The law allows anyone to use a defibrillator without training to help a heart attack victim. That’s why AEDs have become so popular. And that they are made available in places open to the public or in companies.

However, training is always a big plus if you want to be able to act quickly in such situations. Because every minute counts. Stress often mounts and the people around the victim don’t know how to react. Or are reluctant to take the initiative to use a defibrillator. For fear of making a mistake.
