The Defisign Life is in fact the same defibrillator as the Schiller Fred PA-1. Defisign has chosen this Swiss-made Schiller model to bring an AED to market at a very affordable price. This defibrillator, designed for general public use, provides clear voice instructions in several different languages. As a result, it can be used by as many different people as possible. A single button lets you choose one of the 3 languages available for dictating instructions. And this is true throughout the resuscitation process.
By default, the three languages available for Swiss packages are French, German and Italian. But a multitude of languages and customized packages are available on request.
This defibrillator starts automatically as soon as the cover is opened. The visible electrodes are already connected to the device and can therefore be placed immediately on the victim’s bare chest, saving precious time. Voice instructions are then issued directly. These instructions are backed up by pictograms illuminated by LED lights. As you can see, the Defisign Life guides the rescuer through the resuscitation process, and is extremely easy to use.
Electrodes have a lifespan of 2 to 3 years. Battery life is 6 years.
When resuscitating an infant victim, pediatric electrodes must be used. The defibrillator switches to pediatric mode as soon as these pediatric electrodes are connected. The energy level of the shock to be administered is then much lower (50 joules) to be appropriate for children.
