The semi-automatic Zoll AED Plus is a defibrillator with cardiac massage assistance. It’s the only External Automated Defibrillator (AED) that enables real-time evaluation of cardiac massage.

The defibrillator combines written and voice messages to guide the rescuer through the intervention, which may lead to defibrillation and/or cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

After placing the electrodes on the patient, the defibrillator monitors the electrocardiographic (ECG) rhythm of the victim’s heart, analyzes this rhythm and determines whether or not an electric shock is required. If a shock is required, defibrillation energy is also delivered via these electrodes.

The Zoll AED plus uses a single button to deliver the shock, if requested by the device, after ECG analysis. Its one-piece electrode evaluates in real time the effectiveness of cardiopulmonary resuscitation provided by the rescuer. The integrated metronome, together with voice and visual messages (“press harder”, “good compressions”), inform and guide the rescuer throughout resuscitation.
