Service life of electrodes for CU Medical I-PAD SP1
i-PAD SP1 electrodes have a shelf life of 24 – 28 months. The expiration date can be found on the sticker on the back of the packaging.
Electrodes have an expiration date due to the conductive gel they contain. This gel may dry out over time. Once expired, the electrodes can no longer be used. That’s why it’s important to always have a new set of electrodes with an expiration date that hasn’t passed.
Positioning the electrodes on a child
Placing electrodes on a child is different from placing them on an adult. Place one electrode on the chest and the other between the shoulder blades. Although adult electrodes are suitable for resuscitating children, it is preferable to use pediatric electrodes, which are better adapted to the morphology of younger children.
